Grade Specific State Required Screening/ click here

2023 - 2024 We are doing screenings per state requirements for public schools: The State of Massachusetts requires public schools to screen students in specific grades so that appropriate referrals may be made for further medical evaluation if needed. The screenings are not diagnostic and are intended to supplement oversight of care by a student's primary care provider. The screening schedule for Heights Elementary School will take place within the first month of school throughout the school year in the Health Office. Listed below are the grades with the required screening. Vision: grades k - 5 Hearing: grades k - 3 Postural (scoliosis): grade 5 Growth and Development: grades 1 and 4 If you choose not to have your child participate in a specific screening, you must provide written documentation of the request and specify which screening you wish to not have provided for your child. Please be aware this is a service required by the state and is meant only as a screening process and is diagnostic. Referrals are made by your school nurse to you as the parent/guardian to follow up with out of normal range results with your own medical provider. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
